My name is Maddie Aub and I am a passionate soul wrapped up in a human body, seeking the joy, peace, and purpose that life has to offer. I endure the intensity of emotional experiences and the healing processes that follow. I face the struggles that come from a sometimes chained heart or closed mind. And, I have been granted some life force - as you have - and asked by the universe to somehow enjoy it one moment at a time...

Thus, I am an artist! Being an artist is the best way I've found to bear this load in good spirit and foster healthy relationships with everyone and everything around me.

I do landscape and portrait painting with acrylics, oils, watercolors, and India inks. I also love writing and illustrating books by combining traditional and digital media. And, when I’m not making pretty pictures, you can find me crocheting, sewing, or woodburning, because why not?!

In June 2020, I adopted a nomadic lifestyle to make travel a centerpiece in my life and art practice. “Intuitive road tripping" - i.e. driving in my car with no strong sense of a destination - allowed me to become more connected to myself, others, nature, and the divine. Creating art during my adventures was both a byproduct and method of forging these connections.

My adventures have since led me across the Atlantic to Florence, Italy - where I studied at the Florence Academy of Fine Arts for one year - then to Southern California to graduate with a BFA in Illustration at Long Beach State University. Now I’m living in a school bus and living the nomadic dream again!

What I love most about my art practice is how it allows me to use my interactions with nature and new people to dive deeper into what it means to be human. I hope you will come along with me in my journey, whether it be through enjoying my virtual gallery and projects in progress, following me on Facebook and Instagram, signing up to get email updates at the bottom of any page, or checking out my online shop!
